Your Mission

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Support the communication team based in Chiang Mai in creating and developing the communication materials following the BDF brand tools kits and supporting the program team in the field needed. The intern will have opportunities for creative input but will follow established communication strategies and guidelines.

สนับสนุนงานฝ่ายการสื่อสารที่สำนักงานหลัก จังหวัดเชียงใหม่ ในการสร้างสรรค์และพัฒนาสื่อเพื่อการสื่อสารและประชาสัมพันธ์ภายใต้ชุดเครื่องมือขององค์กร รวมถึงการสนับสนุนงานภาคสนามร่วมกับฝ่ายโครงการของมูลนิธิฯ นักศึกษาฝึกงานจะได้รับโอการในการออกแบบสื่อได้อย่างสร้างสรรค์ตามหลักกลยุทธ์และแนวทางการสื่อได้เลย

KEY ROLES:
1. Graphic Design:
Support the development of promotional materials (Guidance and feedback will be provided for interns to develop their skills in graphic.) such as brochures, videos, and infographics.

2. Support BDF Photography and Videography:
By supporting the BDF mission by providing the  photos and video footage to create the communication materials. Develop and upskill using the equipment and software to create the professional media.

3. PDPA and Child Protection Support:
Respond on managing and storing the consent form to the Salesforce.
Support creating the daily content story in BDF social media.
Assist in crafting compelling daily content stories for BDF's social media platforms. This includes collecting photos, short videos and providing necessary information to the team.

4. Support Dao Ethical Gifts communication materials:
  • (Please note the following tasks as per the MOU between Baan Dek Foundation and Dao Ethical Gifts company) Time spent on Dao Ethical Gifts tasks will constitute approximately 20% of the intern’s responsibilities. 
  • Respond to store and organize photos and video for backup of the materials on Google Share Drive

5. Support for editing the video of BSI:
Support editing the Voice from Sectors Series. By providing the finished materials to promote the BSI mission and collaboration with the construction sector by responding to editing the video and supporting providing other materials (ex. footage, photos and program information) needed.

SUPPORT ROLES:
1. Enhancing Awareness and Visibility:
Increase the visibility and awareness of Baan Dek Foundation’s mission and programs through various communication channels by creating and editing content for social media platforms, and websites.

2. Training and Capacity Building:
Participate in training sessions and workshops to enhance communication skills and knowledge.

Your Profile

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:  
Studies on Communication, Media, Community Innovation or related fields. 
การศึกษา/ประสบการณ์
กำลังศึกษาหรือสำเร็จการศึกษาในสาขาการสื่อสาร, สื่อ, นวัตกรรมชุมชน หรือสาขาที่เกี่ยวข้อง

WORKING KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
  • Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop is essential, while knowledge of Lightroom, Indesign, and Premiere Pro is preferred and  ability to adapt using AI tool generators to process daily tasks.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Workspace is required. 
  • A strong interest in a human/child rights-based approach and social development is necessary.

  • Support with time management will be provided through regular check-ins and flexible work arrangements to ensure deadlines are met

About Baan Dek Foundation

Baan Dek Foundation is a dynamic non-profit dedicated to empowering marginalized children and families living in urban poverty, particularly in construction camps across Thailand. 

The Thai construction sector employs approximately 700,000 migrants out of which 40% are women. BDF and UNICEF’s evidence-based study states around 60,000 children live with parents in construction site camps with slum-like conditions. These children and their parents face critical challenges in accessing essential services such as education, healthcare and child protection.

To address this challenge, BDF supports children and their parent’s immediate needs (access to healthcare, education, and child protection services), empowers their communities through a peer-to-peer approach (training for youth, adults, and women) and creates systemic change in the Thai construction sector through the Building Social Impact Initiative.

Baan Dek also powers a spin-off social enterprise: Dao Ethical Gifts, which empowers vulnerable women in Thailand.
