Expected Start Date: January or February 2025 BDF is seeking a motivated and skilled individual to join our team as a Women4Change Project Officer. This role focuses on empowering women at the individual and community levels, with a special emphasis on vulnerable groups such as migrants, ethnic minorities, and indigenous women living in construction site camps and urban slums in Chiang Mai. The Project Officer will work closely with the supervision of Women Empowerment Program (WEP) Manager to implement activities that support the empowerment of women and help achieve the program’s goals.
The Women4Change Project Officer will play a pivotal role in implementing key project activities, such as identifying and training vulnerable women, facilitating women’s group dynamics, and supporting women leaders to drive sustainable change within their communities. The Women4Change Project Officer will also be responsible for organizing training for targeted beneficiaries and community representatives, ensuring the effective delivery of prepared knowledge content. Additionally, the officer will provide ongoing technical support to trained women community leaders, guiding them in applying their skills to lead their communities and share knowledge widely. By empowering women leaders to pass on the knowledge they have been equipped. This position requires strong organizational abilities, a dedication to gender equality, and the capacity to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders. Based in Chiang Mai, the officer will be instrumental in achieving the project’s goal of empowering women with the knowledge, resources, and community support needed to overcome challenges and thrive.
The Employee will be under the direct supervision of the BDF’s Women Empowerment Program Manager. The Director of Programs and WEP Managers, are entitled to reformulate the job description as needed for the sound management of the whole organization. The Employee will provide weekly updates for his/her supervisor’s review.
The Employee will collaborate with all Directors and Managers, in addition to the Finance, Partnerships and Programs teams based in Chiang Mai and Bangkok.
The main responsibilities of the Employee include, but are not limited to, the following:
Develop and Improve Training Materials: Enhance existing training content and develop new materials in consultation with experts to address community-specific needs effectively.
Implement Project Activities: Collaborate with the program team, manager, and beneficiaries to ensure successful implementation of project activities.
Conduct Trainings: Deliver training sessions to beneficiaries using prepared content and techniques to enable knowledge transfer effectively.
Support Women Leaders: Provide guidance and technical support to trained women leaders in conducting activities within their communities.
Engage Service Providers: Coordinate with service providers to prepare and deliver relevant knowledge and skills to beneficiaries.
Monitor Community Progress: Track the progress of women leaders' plans to ensure successful dissemination of knowledge within their communities.
Data Collection and Analysis: Gather and analyze data from construction camps for monitoring and evaluation purposes, ensuring informed decision-making.
Identify Challenges and Share Lessons Learned: Report challenges faced by communities, companies, or service providers to the management team and contribute to lesson-learned processes.
Promote Team Collaboration: Foster a constructive and productive working environment, encouraging open communication and teamwork among staff and partners.
Support Day-to-Day Missions: Assist the Management Team in daily operations and projects while adhering to the organization’s values and objectives.
The Project Officer will commit to supporting all field activities and procedures to ensure the effective and ethical management of BDF’s programs.
COMPLEMENTARY SUPPORT:
As a member of the BDF team, the Employee is responsible for:
Ensuring that the programs/tasks implemented are of good quality, and are relevant to the mission and vision of the foundation
Respecting commitments with donors and embracing the overall vision of the Foundation and its humanitarian commitment.
Promoting a constructive and productive working environment among the team. Actively supporting information sharing, transparency and dialogue among the staff and with beneficiaries of all projects.
Supporting the management team in the development of requested communication, financial, activities, etc.
Facilitating communication between the local team, beneficiaries, external stakeholders (local partners, schools, governmental organizations, foundations, etc.), and the management team.
Assisting representation of BDF upon request by welcoming and presenting Baan Dek programs and activities to visiting partners and sponsors, as well as liaising with external stakeholders when requested.
Supporting the management team in day-to-day missions and projects.
